The Course Consists of 5 Sessions
Session 1 Focus on background and rationale for a 'Training the Ultrasound Trainers' course in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Understand the RCOG ultrasound curriculum and challenges in ultrasound training in the UK and India
Session 2 Discuss who can be an ultrasound trainer and how to teach ultrasound clinical and non-technical skills. This will be followed by learning about work-based assessments, trainee assessments, appraisals and mentoring
Session 3 Learn about giving feedback, managing performance and reflective learning as an ultrasound trainer
Session 4 Become familiar with resources for teaching ultrasound, e-learning platforms, simulation and blended ultrasound training. Understand the quality and standards required.
Session 5 Learn how to set up a FOGSI recognised centre for ultrasound training and how to maintain the quality and standard of training. Understand the requirements for RCOG/FOGSI accreditation as a trainer. Hear about the local faculty-experience and receive tips on running a FOGSI recognised ultrasound training centre.
