This guideline aims to assist clinicians with the initial assessment and appropriate management of pregnant women with red blood cell antibodies.
This is the first edition of this guideline.
This guideline provides guidance on the management of pregnant women with red cell antibodies predating the pregnancy or those developing antibodies during pregnancy. The guideline also includes the management of fetal anaemia caused by red cell antibodies, as well as the early management of the neonate at risk of anaemia and/or hyperbilirubinaemia. It does not address the management of the pregnant woman with anti-platelet antibodies or other autoimmune or alloimmune antibodies.
